on my drive to swim practice last night i was flipping through my normal radio stations (100.3, 101.1, 94.7, 107.3) just trying to find something to listen to. tragically there was a commercial on each and every station. blast. so i just hit the seek button in search of some sort of music. when it stopped on 104.1 i was about to hit seek again (i mean, who wants to listen to classical??), but instead i was pleasantly surprised!
everyone must remember that sad day on january 4, 2005 when z104 suddenly went off the air. i was so upset by the news that i boycotted the radio in it's entirety! but now, when i forget my ipod at least, i do find myself listening to the radio in my car. but, i still haven't found a new favorite station. there is a big void left left by z104. now i end up switching stations a lot more than i used to in search of decent music (or music at all).
so back to last night. my radio seek stopped on 104.1. classical, ugh. (actually i don't really mind classical that much - i just wasn't in the mood). but to my surprise it was billy joel, not beethoven. what is this?
so i did some digging and found out that it has become george104 and they play "70's, 80's and whatever we want." and they also pledge "104 days of commercial free music!" definitely sounds promising...
