joss is amazing! her voice is even better live than on her cds. she was wearing the cutest little dress and obviously no shoes! and the didn't stand still for much of the show - she is so fun and energetic! and she has fun little anecdotes for all of her songs. it's pretty amazing how many times this girl has been in love. she's only twenty years old! which probably explains why she was sticking with tea on stage - i'm sure she hates coming and playing in the us - england doesn't have a drinking age does it?? and speaking of england she has the coolest british accent!
ooooh and ryan shaw (the opener) was really good too. he was definitely way too preachy for me (let's be honest - any religion is too much for me - but he was way over the top). ok, but his voice was really good and his songs were great. and his bass player was amazing - he could play the bass like i've never seen/heard before. wow!
sounds like a perfect night, right? well it would have been if the weather had cooperated just a tad. it started raining about three minutes after we got there. but, luckily we had the genius idea to go stand under the overhang. and that was all well and good until a freakshow who worked there decided to become the line nazi and hardcore enforce that everyone stand behind the "line." so we got as close to the "line" without going over and somehow stayed almost completely dry. and while the lightning was pretty freaky - the only one real scare of the night came when i was in the bathroom and the power went completely off. those bathrooms are really dark with no lights. but, luckily the power came back on a few seconds later because there would have been a lot of unhappy fans out there.
going back to wolftrap just reminds me how much i love that place - i can't wait for the rest of the concerts this season!
