spring has sprung

must have been all that sunshine and all those birds chirping that woke me up early this morning. but with weather like this who can complain?

i figured since i was already getting to work early i might as well treat myself to some real coffee (i.e. not just the luke warm brown water concoction going on in my office). i contemplated walking over to caribou but when i noticed the line for starbucks wasn't out the door i figured i'd just pop in there.

i walked up and ordered my coffee and handed the lady my starbucks card. but, tragically it didn't have enough money on it and i still owed her 48 cents. so since i had my wallet out i just whipped out my debit card and handed it over. she gave me an annoyed look and asked, "do you really not have 48 cents?" now, probably somewhere deep down in my humongous work bag i probably could have scrounged up 48 cents, but honestly that would have taken about ten times longer than if she had just swiped my card. so instead i said, "no, sorry i don't." then she handed my card back to me (without swiping it first) and just grabbed in the "tip" jar and took out 48 cents. so thank you, starbucks lady, for giving me a 48 cent discount on my coffee this morning.

the sun in shining and it's supposed to hit 70 degrees today. color me excited!
