little miss sunshine

i went to the mall on sunday afternoon. i clearly didn't check the weather before i left and since it was nearly 60 degrees on friday and saturday, i figured i'd be fine in my chosen outfit of jeans, my little miss sunshine t-shirt and flip flops. i was completely inappropriately dressed for the weather - oops. but, luckily i wore that shirt because it allowed for the most random conversation to take place.

it was towards the end of our shopping trip. we were walking from the new hall and were coming up on ruehl. now you know i hate abercrombie, etc. but ruehl jeans are great. and they have the best sales. and as proven on sunday you can fit into normal sizes there. well, except for their shorts, but that is a whole other story.

so we walk into ruehl. the music was blasting as usual. i honestly don't know how anyone works in that store. the combination of loud music (but at least it's not techno) and the strong odor of their cologne/perfume always gives me a headache by the time i leave that store. i start leading everyone to the back of the store (everyone knows the good sales are always in the back room) and there's a ruehl girl that stops to welcome us.

ruehl girl: hi, welcome to ruehl.
me: thanks.
rg: oh, i really like your shirt.
me: oh, thanks.
rg: is it, like, from the movie?
me: oh, no. actually it is from the little children's books. [honestly, did no one else grow up reading these books?]
rg: oh, well i saw britney spears wearing that shirt in a magazine so i figured that's why you had it.
...and then i just walked away before i made an inappropriate comment...

ugh. actually make that a double ugh.
