went to celebrate a birthday saturday night. clearly we never go anywhere empty handed. but, saturday night we might have outdone ourselves. we each had two shopping bags full of goodies - and we surely didn't disappoint. we arrived at the door and right as we stepped in susie and i both, at the exact same time (clearly) said, "we come bearing gifts." if you haven't witnessed me and susie in action you're truly missing out. it's like we were separated at birth or something.so we emptied all the bags to show what we'd brought. obviously the birthday gifts. boring. and then we pulled out all the leftover beer from last week - that really got the party started. then we pulled out the first surprise - a cupcake pinata! it was such a hit - we seriously could have stopped there. and then it was time for surprise number two - oreo cupcakes that i had baked in the afternoon. not to toot my own horn or anything - but they're rather delicious. half an oreo baked into the bottom w/ a white cake based oreo cake (w/ sour cream of course!) and white icing w/ oreo crumbles. mmmm mmmm good!
a few other observations from the night:
1. 99.5 is truly the worst radio station ever. they played akon every half hour. really, we kept track.
2. we learned the best kings rule. you have to call everyone by the name of their parent of the opposite sex. it's pretty hilarious.
3. watching music videos on mute while different music is playing on the radio is pretty fun.
i have a feeling we might be getting invites to many more birthday parties in the future...
