this is the team that everyone projected to be the worst team in baseball history and here they are winning six in a row in august. it's really been all about teamwork as the guys have been playing great together. but, really zimmerman has been knocking it out of the park (haha). he single handidly won the game for them on friday night and then again yesterday afternoon. he's slowly becoming the gilbert arenas of the washington nationals (although i truly hope he never gets as cocky as arenas is).
but, now the nats are out west and are set to face the giants. and they're out there for four games so the odds are pretty good that bonds will hit number 756 against one of the nats pitchers. sure they'll go down in history with bonds, but is that really a good thing?
and the nats weren't the only ones having a nice weekend. i had probably the most relaxing weekend ever. i took advantage of the tax-free weekend in virginia and hit up the mall friday night. and saturday morning i ran into vienna to check out the farmers market (and managed to get a fresh crepe for breakfast - it was just as delicious as the flat!). and i managed to fit in two movies on top of reading two books while lounging at the pool.
and i had a bodo's bagel for breakfast this morning. yes, you should be jealous.
ps. don't forget that tax-free week continues in dc all week long. i have a feeling i might need to take a visit to the h&m next to my office at lunchtime!
