this week, in a nutshell

the bad:
- work has been busy - like crazy busy for the summer.
- i managed to get a killer stye and have been sporting my glasses all week. wearing glasses when it's sunny and hot out is not fun. actually, it's pretty miserable.
- i had plans to see hairspray last night. and then those plans fell through. but then i made new plans. and then the metro was all screwed up and it took me over two hours to get home and i missed the movie.
- during the metro debacle thursday night when i finally got onto a running orange line train i was standing next to two women debating the origin of religion for the entire ride. and then my ipod died so i was forced to actually listen to them. and this is all while i was squished up against people on an overcrowded train.
- for various reasons, i have not been able to sleep through the night. that has only made everything worse.

there have been some redeeming factors:
- potbelly ice cream sandwich on monday w/ my dessert buddy at work.
- nielsen's custardwich last night.
- the nats swept the reds! and zim was awesome the whole series!
- two days at phillip's and one at jettie's. not too shabby on the lunch front.

well, at least it's finally friday. and it's supposed to be a scorching weekend!

and just when i thought this day/week couldn't get any worse there was no a/c on the metro ride home. disgusting.
