so i moved offices on monday. it has not been the most pleasant experience. in addition to all the packing and unpacking i've had to do, the new digs are not so hot (well actually they're really hot, but you know what i mean).
first of all, i am in a cube. it is completely miserable. before we had nice wooden desks in a completely open office with a whole wall of windows overlooking the canal in georgetown. wow, what a downgrade. but at least i'm downtown, right near chinatown. at least that's what i keep telling myself.
proably the most disturbing thing about the new office is that the receptionist randomly comes on the loud speaker (i feel like i'm back at marshall). she will come one periodically throughout the day to tell people to "call the front desk" and to "dial the front desk." not only do i not know any of the people she is talking about, you can barely understand her mumbly voice. it's completely annoying.
i'm totally waiting for velda to get on the microphone and belt out "attention kmart shoppers, blue light special aisle 13."
