this past weekend i went to check the mail and among a few birthday cards i noticed i had a postcard from fedex. huh? apparently they had attempted to deliver a package but had trouble finding our house. although the fact that the postcard made it into my mailbox makes me wonder how hard they really tried. but, i really am like whatever.
so i called the customer service number listed and tried to get to the bottom of it. so the first thing the guy asked for was my apartment number. what?! i informed him that i live in a townhouse and there was no apartment number. i gave him my cell phone number just in case and then hung up expecting to see the package on monday.
so, did i get the package on monday? of course not. actually on tuesday afternoon i looked at my cell phone and saw i had a new voicemail. it was fedex calling asking for my apartment number again. are you kidding me? so i called the number back and explained the situation to the woman on the other end. she was nice enough - but she was dumb as bricks. she assured me she noted down that i don't live in an apartment building and also told me she would print out a map of the area to give to the driver.
i would have thought all of this would have been done the first time they screwed up - but now it seemed like my package would finally make it to my house. needless to say there was no package waiting outside our door when we got home from dinner tuesday night.
so, wednesday morning i called up fedex again. i got some guy and explained the whole situation to him. and to top it all off the woman on tuesday had given me the wrong tracking number so it took this guy about ten minutes to figure out what my real number was. after he did he told me my package was on the truck and i should expect it's delivery that day. this being a full week after they initially attempted to deliver it. pathetic.
but, i guess the sensed my annoyance because some woman left me a message yesterday afternoon confirming that i got my package. so then when i finally got home last night (after the nats game!) there was a package waiting for me.
so, now you're probably wondering what was in the package - right? well it was a pen from cbre congratulating me on my one year anniversary. a lousy pen! and the best part is it's not even my one year anniversary - it's my two year anniversary in september! what a joke.
ps. did you know that ellen degeneres had her own greeting card line?
