gilmore girls gives a shout out to dc

the main reason i love gilmore girls is for the witty conversations and random pop culture references. true, the original writer left the show after last season. and true, this season has been pretty mediocre. but, last night had some killer lines.

first of which was when zack was telling lane about how some band asked him to go on tour with them over the summer. he went on to talk about all the cities they would be playing and when he got to dc he got so excited that they would be playing at the 930 club and the black cat. and i got excited. but, would a band honestly play at the 930 club AND the black cat on the same tour? i think not.

so then later in the episode lorelai was trying to cheer up rory and started talking about the important of setbacks in life. then she started listing famous people who suffered major setbacks in their life, but then turned it around and made something positive out of it. and she used alanis morrisette's experience of dating dave coulier (yes, uncle joey) as an example. and this makes me laugh because i was just talking to someone about this. random, i know.

then came the best part. lorelai and rory were at a karaoke bar. and rory told lorelai it would make her feel all better if lorelai got up there and sang. so she did. and what song did she pick? none other than "i will always love you." granted it was the cheesy-karaoke-country version. but, still. anything related to whitney is fine by me.
